The listing, Breathtaking Chinese Handmade Scarf has ended.
This qualifies as an amazing and absolutely beautiful piece of artwork! My husband and I were wandering through an Oriental antique store in Dallas when we saw these draped over some lovely furniture. The owner explained to us that while these are not antique, they are handmade by the people in a Chinese village (and I cannot remember the name). There were five of them, different colors, and we bought them all! It is quite long: 70" long and 20 3/4" wide. It is a deep burgundy color with lighter shades. It features two magnificently detailed peacocks facing one another surrounded by flowers. There are so many tiny beads throughout the motif, and the edges of the scarf are beaded as well I could not begin to guess how many there are. I could not get a single shot of the entire piece as it was too long for the camera to catch. I use mine as a wall hanging, one of my sisters uses hers as a shawl (it looks magnificent), and another sister framed hers in a deep lighted shadow box. Now that looks amazing! I don't know materials, but I the edges of this feel like some type of velvet. This piece is even more stunning in person.
