These are such pretty clasps! I've never tried making any jewelry before, but these make me want to try hahaha...... I'll think about it :) If not, maybe I could replace some of the clasps on things I already have. These would be so gorgeous on bracelets!

Neat photo for your avatar ... is that really your eye? Making beaded jewelry isn't that hard. You need the beads, the beading string or wire, and a few tools. That little bead book that I have ending Wednesday night would be perfect for you!

My mother's really big on crafts, so I'll check in with her to see if she has anything laying around I could use for practice :) I put the book on my watch list, but for now my credits are pretty well tied up! I know there are a bunch of simple plastic beads around I use to make fishing rigs, so maybe I'll practice with a few of those. I see Stacey has her eye on these too... if she and her hubby win these, I'm sure there will be something gorgeous to show for it! I've recently discovered their listings and WOW it's like they know my style hahaha... oh and thank you! Yeah, that's really my eye. No, I don't usually wear THAT much makeup! I did that just to play with it and try to make it look neat. :)

If you have the little tools to make fishing lures, you may not need to buy any tools. Basically you need a crimper and a small pliers with wire cutters. For seed beading you might need beading needles. I keep a knot-tying tool handy (basically looks like a little ice pick) and use it for lots of things, even though I don't do "pearl" style knotting between beads. The little tools and supplies such as beading wire can be a little expensive, but the way beading becomes expensive is spending $3-$10 for one little bunch of beads, hundreds of times LOL

Most beaders are like me, I think. The beads are so fascinating that we buy them, collect and amass then, and then never use a lot of them. So Listia is PERFECT for swapping out beads and other craft materials that we all buy because they are on sale, strike our fancy, etc.
