FREE: Bulbine frutescens / Cat Tail Lily

The listing, Bulbine frutescens / Cat Tail Lily has ended.

This long lived succulent has grass like foliage to 12 inches long, and long lasting showy flower spikes held well above the foliage. (For scale--the planter is a ten gallon pot, and the platter displaying a cutting could host a small turkey or a large roast hen.) It is easy to propagate and once established will produce many offsets. It can be used externally just the same as Aloe vera. (While some websites recommend ingestion--I don't. It taste terrible.)

This auction is for two cuttings--which should grow out to fill a gallon container within 6 months. (Check e-bay where gallons are going for $32.00!) Simply plant them, keep them moist and in bright light but not direct sun until they start to grow, then tapper off water and let them dry out between waterings. You can also gradually get them used to the sun. They prefer bright filtered light for most of the day, but they can take up to 2 hours of direct sun in the middle of the day.
