Description

The listing, Barbossa? bush has ended.

This is very easy to start from seed, all my neighbors have taken seeds home with great success, but I still have not seen one exactly like this anywhere else. That is a mature plant in my front yard.

I have this plant growing also. I started it from seeds from my neighbor's plant and it's BEAUTIFUL! They are easy to grow and I want to have a lot of them all over my yard! They're Mexican Bird of Paradise. Great auction! I really like that you didn't start it out at some expensive minimum bid. :)

It does look a lot like the mexican bird of paradise and it is from the same family, but it is not what is sold in Texas as that plant. I share my seeds because I love for people to just plant things and enjoy them. It is my true passion in life to plant color!!!

I only allow myself to start one tray of trees and shrubs at a time--and my tray is full . . . dang it anyway!

Okay I finally found it, normally grows in Arizona, it is a Mexican bird of paradise, there are red, orange and this one which is the yellow with res stamens. This variety has the largest blooms I have ever seen on one before that normally grow a bloom the size of my entire have with very large flowers. Most have wispy weak looking flowers in the other colors.

Close but a different plant, This one stumped me because I am a landscaper and use to run a few greenhouses that grew and sold mostly natives and never once saw this one.

Does it have thorns?

Does not have thorns but it does have a wicked smell to it which keeps predators like deer, etc from eating it. But hummingbirds love it.
