This is a very large hardback (531 pages) and is in very good condition.

Three unforgettable women and a man of genius...Only Judith Krantz could tell the story of three passionate heroines whose shared legacy--and destiny--is their love for the same dominating, tempestuous man--the great painter Julien Mistral. Mistral, like the fierce wind of Provence that shares his name, leaves no one in his path unchanged.

The story begins in Paris of the 1920s where Maggy Lunel comes to seek her fortune. A flamboyant redhead with the innocence of Gigi and the style of Coco Chanel, Maggy is an artists' model and the toast of Montparnasse. She is quickly swept into an affair woth Mistral. Their few turbulent months together inspire his first major paintings and rob Maggy of her innocence.

Maggy Lunel is Mistral's first true inspiration and, though they separate, fate will always link them. Only years later when he meets Teddy Lunel, Maggy's daughter, does the obsessed Mistral discover his greatest love. Teddy is the top photographic model of the 1950s--triumphant, sought-after, restless. She and Mistral abandon everyone and everything in their reckless love.

And then there is Fauve, Mistral's daughter. Lovely, high-spirited and fearless, Fauve Lunel is brought up to inherit the Lunel Agency, the most powerful fashion agency of the time. When an ugly secret of his past is revealed, only Fauve challenges Mistral. And it is through his devotion to her that Mistral's genius reaches its ultimate expression.

Mistral's Daughter is Judith Krantz's finest novel. It covers decades of eventful, richly detailed drama as the story progresses from the glorious party of the 1920s through World War II up to the present.
