They should not be hot, but sometimes the peppers do come out hot. I don't know if you are familiar with peppers, the ones I use for this recipe is poblano pepper.

They are usually not hot, but sometimes its in the pepper and it comes out hot

the heat is in the seeds mostly..just make sure you remove them and you will be fine...I love chile rellanos..good auction.
