The listing, 4+ yr old hp laptop turns on but doesn't power up has ended.

the lights come on when i turn it on but nothing comes on the screen. i turned it on one day and just left it and it came on eventually so i was able to get my pictures off it. i tried it again but it didn't work. It may be able to be fixed??? or used for parts it is a HP PAVILION dv7-1135nr entertainment notebook it has windows 7 on it IT ALSO HAS A 20 INCH SCREEN BUYER MUST PAY EXACT SHIPPING, IT WEIGHS 8 LBS BEFORE PACKING YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURES THE LIGHTS COME ON BUT THE SCREEN DOESN'T???

Do you have the disks from the factory and the charging cable? Also, would you do a GIN?

I have charging cable and backup disks I made but not the original i just ran them and its working now

Great laptop, Its an easy fix. Not cheap but people who know how to reball the video chip, you will have a great laptop. I reball about 3 -5 a week. Hps are common with a few dells and toshibas.

Look up reballing video chip. thats the problem. Also , I wouldnt recommend sending this out with your personal information on it, pictures, documents, etc.etc.

thank you for the info. there is no personal info on it but there are lots of family pics but i can't get it to come on so I can't get them off. any suggestion?

Sure, 1. You could take to local repair shop and they could connect your hard drive to another computer using an adaptor and pull your pictures off the hard drive.

Or 2. You could do it yourself, the connector may cost between 10 - 15 dollars, and once you connect the hard drive to the connector you just plug it into the usb port of the computer your using now.

I'll bid on this cause I know I can fix it and resale for 250. But Im really saving up for an Ipad 3 so , i couldnt bid more then 30000

And of course 3. You could ask who ever wins to email your pictures to you if they can retrieve them. I figure this to go for about 110000 points, it really is a easy fix.
