do you know what you would have to do to use it as wireless mp3 headphones? also does it run on batteries or is it some kind of rechargeable battery pack

This unit comes with a transmitter which can run on batteries or can be connected by a 3V transformer (included) for the power supply. After that's been charged, you plug the lotus jack (also included) into the "audio out" socket of the transmitter.

Headphones comes with complete instructions on how to operate the transmitter within.
