Description

The listing, 10 wild leek seeds (Allium tricoccum) has ended.

Wild leeks are my absolute favorite of onions! The old wives tale is if you eat leeks three days in a row, you will be healthy for the year and I believe there is truth to that! Great eating raw, or cook in stews, eggs, just about anything you want onions in. These seeds have been cold treated already so you won't have to and it's a good class room experiment for areas that do not receive frost or freezing temps. I sell alot of these on another site and people in southern areas tell me once they sprout these, if it is to hot in their area, they grow them in there refrigerator! They like dappled shade with more moisture but not soggy area to grow in. Bees love them. Also as a possible bonus, the VERY RARE Allium Burkickii (another wild leek) seeds were accidently added to my seed collection so the chances are really good you might have some of those mixed in with the tricoccum but the seeds all look the same so I will have no idea.

For some reason I cannot edit this to add more info. Have to do it here..... When your leeks grow and you harvest them, after cutting the roots off, replant the roots and you will have more leeks from the roots then every year, as long as you do that, you will have a continuing and growing supply.
