if you go over to where it says your highest bid,where you put your bid in it will say a number you should bid higher than. normally its about 10 over the bid,i hope this helps mayhew.

Well, I bid ten over what it said following your advice and it did the same thing. It's really annoying but it's looking like Listia cheats or something. So I may end up passing altogether unless I find a way to make my bid count.

Mayhewjl.. this is because someone else already put in a higher bid. When you bid you have the option of trying 10 over, or as much over as you like. So say it's currently at 202.. and says bid 203 or higher. If someone else has already opted say 500 as their high bid, your bid of 203 will automatically be outbid and the amount will go up. Your high bid holds until someone pushes it up and out. It's not cheating, it's trying to secure your bid with the most you are willing to go up. However, say on this shirt you bid 5000.. but no one else continues to bid and it stops at 2000, the shirt is yours for 2000, and you get your remaining 3000 back. Pretty much someone already laid out their security blanket. Just try bidding the top amount you are willing to win this for. Does that make a little more sense?
