Description

The listing, Chocolate Vine has ended.

Don't know why this is called Chocolate Vine - has green leaves! Grows rapidly and spreads, will grow anywhere! I have trained some up retaining wals and others into "bushes". I used a tomatoe cage and train the vine to go around it, it covers the cage and looks like a bush. Does not bloom, I have morning glorys planted in center of tomatoe cage to add color.

Drought tolerant, loves full sun but is growing under a weeping willow, tolerates shade/sun. Warning - does have to be cut back or will become invasive, travels across ground if it can't vine up. I use part of it across the top of the retaining wall to keep weeds out, have to mow back trailers trying to take over yard

It is rooted, I will send planting directions, I would say give it TLC but it has never had that, probally would kill it!

perfect.. My mother had a wood rose that did this, and covered her back yard with shade but the frost killed it a while back.. this would be an excellent replacement :)

i have a chocolate vine...it finally bloomed after 3 years...real tiny white bloom you would miss if not looking very closely... love the vine...takes full sun...was told it should eventually have a fruit and it should be eible and taste like chocolate.

I have had this for 10 years and no blooms (or fruit unless the birds got them first). It could be because of cold killing it back and it has to start over next year. It has become a huge vine, has roots every foot or so, I couldn't cut it all out of here if I wanted to
