The listing, VERY VERY OLD BIBLE has ended.

This is a hard cover BIBLE from the AMERICAN BIBLE SOCIETY. I have added as many pictures as I could so you can see the dates and get an idea of the condition.
The very first page is black. The second is vanilla and suppose to be blank however there is writing that reads " To Gearldine from Betty J. Stauffer Joinior". The next page just before the contents page reads:
THE HOLY BIBLE, CONTAINING THE OLD AND NEW TESTAMENTS: TRANSLATED OUT OF THE ORIGIONAL TONGUES; AND WITH THE FORMER TRANSLATIONS DILIGENTLY COMPARED AND REVISED.____________________ AMERICAN BIBLE SOCIETY INSTITUTED IN THE YEAR 1816, NEW YORK.
In smaller writing I can read: ?Minion 18mo.}
The pages are discolored but very legible. No other pen or pencil marks present. All pages are secure to the spine. There is a tear on the front cover towards the bottom of the spine.
I do not know the actual date of this BIBLE. It appears to be very old. There is also a piece of paper with it that tells one "HOW TO OPEN A NEW BIBLE".

That is the year the society was formed, do you have the date the bible was published

I just found more writing on another page that follows the list of contents that reads:
2,360,000 Printed. 1922 The lady I got this from said however that it belonged to her 93 year old grandmother. That does not add up with the date of 1922. There is also a "TABLE OF TIME, WEIGHTS,MONEY and MEASURE" in the very back of the book. VERY interesting!

Thank you. I had reservations about listing it because it is so old and I love antiques but, I just don't have room for it right now and am concerned that I might lose it or damage it before I can find a place to display it. So, I'd rather let someone else have it that can use it or display it properly.

You could probably email the Amercian Bible Society and ask them, they probably know all the answers that you are looking for.

I feel satisfied with 1922. I figured that I "assumed" that her grandmother had it from the beginning and dismissed the fact that she could have been a second or third owner and only owned it for only awhile. Thanks
