The listing, Mexican Republic [Republica Mexicana] 1 Centavo Coin 1883-Mo has ended.
This specimen is one of a type struck in Mexico 1882-83 along with similar two and five centavos pieces. It was an attempt to emulate the American introduction of small copper cents and copper-nickel five cent pieces and it was a flop. In 1886, the Mexico City mint resumed striking the old style large copper centavos.
