I am so glad you love it! Me too! I keep fit by going out and wild-gathering, keep my mind sharp by always learning... and passing on the knowledge! You will love the sweet fern- a pleasing gift, indeed! I need some silver and turquoise (a ring), so I will be listing more of this. Also, the frost is coming and I have to collect some for the winter. I will be making and listing sweet fern smudge sticks with the bundle, soon! Thank you for your interest and for stopping by! Feel free to check out my other auctions! Peace.

Question~ Are all of the herbs included in this to be burned for cleansing, or are some meant to be hung up, kept in the home, the like, whole and unburned? I know obviously the sage smudge stick, but I am unaccustomed to ferns. I grow and bind my own smudges here, sort of a passion, but those are the average desert/white sage with rosemary and lavender, sometimes mint for relaxation, smudges. Please explain? :) I am very interested!

Yes, you can light any of these plant materials. to burn, of course the smudges, but also the sweet grass and the Sacred Flat Cedar, you can also burn them dried, loose and crumpled on a charcoal disk or you don't have to burn them at all, even the smudges are great for the air!
** I'm not sure what sweet fern is botanically, but that is what it became known as in the lumber camps of the Northeast. It was most likely introduced to them by the local Native Indian People. It is a low growing woody shrub and has sharply serrated leaves. It seem to grow along power lines and scrub pine areas at a higher altitude (not in low valleys) It has a sweet cinnamon, piney, minty fresh aroma, fresh or dried and a sweet pleasingly fragrant smoke when burning. Any of these are for positive cleansing energy, and enhancing relaxation. I hope this helps-it is to the best of my knowledge! Thank you for your interest and for stopping in!

Oh thank you for the in-depth explanation and answer! Very very nice~ Smudge making is a passion of mine, a collector who also regularly uses her collection haha! I would adore these items listed in this little smudging gift bag~ I made my own smudge fan out of a black chicken wing (raccoon got one of our hens )=) but I have yet to acquire a bowl or dish for smudging. Such a beautiful shell would be lovely~ Good luck on your listing! Fanned! Hoping to win :D

I looked up "Sweet Fern" on Google; Latin name, Comptonia Peregrina. It is also known as Meadow Sweet, Sweet Bush, Meadow Fern. Apparently it grows up an down the East Coast as far South as Virginia. Thanks for asking ! : )

thanks, Purple! I found out that it is related to bayberry. I'm sure there are many medicinal and practical uses for it. Thanks for coming by, I appreciate it!
