Check this out: http://www.donorschoose.org -- lets you donate to classrooms across the country. Your gifts are tax deductible and they send the information in Jan for your taxes (i.e. you don't have to keep track yourself). Teachers request funding for specific supplies for their classrooms -- lets teachers think of a neat project and get funding for the supplies--and if YOU are a teacher, it would let you make donations to your own project and at least get a tax credit ... since so many teachers spend their own money on classroom supplies anyway!

Just kinda neat if you want to check it out ... look for projects in your home area, or for those for the neediest kids and schools!

Oh, another nice listing! I think what you might see happen is that after your first listing ends, the folks who like your yarn will bid on subsequent lots. Or, once the bidding goes beyond the credits someone has (or wants to spend) they might bid on another lot.

When this one ends, you might want to hold off on shipping it if the winning bidder is bidding on your other items (or just ask the winner if they plan to try to win another lot). That way you can keep your shipping costs down.

When the auction ends, the listing page will have an e-mail box for you and the winner to correspond privately. This lets you keep track of your correspondence, but no one else can see it. Sometimes it takes a few minutes after the auction end for it to pop up though.

After your item ends, the listing page will also have a box for you to click once it has been shipped, and the winner will have a box to click once she has received it, which will give you your credits. Once you have 15 positive seller feedbacks, you will get your credits automatically as soon as the listing ends.

Hope this is not too confusing ...

I'm also going to send Listia a question about shill bidding, to make sure we can bid on each other's listings. Now that you are using a different ISP I think we can, but since we started out at the same house I'm a little concerned. I'll let you know what they way.

Hope you don't mind -- I am NOT trying to promote another auction on your listings but I think you'll appreciate this if you haven't seen it ... check out the fun comments here and put in YOUR two cents! http://www.listia.com/auction/583777

I also will be listing the Turkey drawing again, all by itself, with a photo of the signatures on the back--will try to keep that fun thread going on that listing too. I'll try to get it posted tonight for 10 days.
