Description
The listing, 1858 Holly Bible has ended.
This is an 1858 Holly Bible, the market value for one completely without the binding is about 200 dollars. This one still has most of the binding in tact and is extremely delicate. It has beautiful illustrated pictures. It is more rare than the king James version. My family had found this bible when we moved into a house in Syracuse. It has birth records, death records and marriage records in the back. We have tried for years to track down the owners, but still cannot find them. Th reason the shipping fee applies is because it is very heavy or it would have been free
I took many more pictures, bc i really don't like tampering with it to much. so I cannot add more than what is already on here. the records are recorded after the old testimate and before the new. and I tool more pictures of the great illustrations. There was also an old newspaper clipped of deaths that was found in the Bible which will be included and was photographed.
Questions & Comments
You could ship this as media mail for less :) Nice auction all the same.
If it isn't too costly I really wont charge anything... it weighs a few lbs. It will be wrapped up good though. It is extremely delicate. With the fact I have 3 children and one on the way it might get destroyed. Don't want that to happen. :) thank you. It really is amazing
very nice bible but not all that rare one on ebay for 199.i have five pages of the king james 1611 first edition, authenticated by butterfields auction house in s.f. and appraised upwards of 20000.does everybody think it would be a big auction if i was to put one page up .?would love to here feedback/and i will consider it.
The King Named is easy to find. They made many many copies. It took me hours to get much info on this one bcthey didn't make nearly as many. Plus most that I have seen are completely destroyed or faded. In this one the pictures are extremely clear and the colord ones are still vibrant. But thank you for your input. :) a 1611 edition of anything would catch a huge price... ecpecially a Bible no matter who writes it. I would insure it it asap
