I have this card of Gordon [Mickey] Cochrane, a Philadelphia Athletic. He was a great hitter, smart catcher and a great ball player. He won the most valuable player award in American League in 1928. This is a Big League Chewing Gum Card. from Goudey Gum Co out of Boston. The yearly date on it is 1933 and at the bottom, it says, A Nostalgia Press Reprint
He was a four-sport star in high school at Bridgewater, Mass. Went to Boston University and was a big football star as he was a baseeball player. He spent two years in the minors, then went up to the Athletics in 1925. He has been up there ever since. :ast year he batted .293 in 139 games.
He was married and lived at Cynwyd, Penn. At this printing, he was 29 years old, five feet 10 1/2 and weighs 175 lbs. He batted left-handed.
