Old World, New World provides a basis for teaching various units for NC History: notably in Key Stage 2 the core study units Tudor and Stuart Times and Exploration and Encounters 1450-1550.

It particularly emphasises work towards strand c of Attainment Target 1, providing a range of exercises that help pupils reconstruct the past and get a feeling for what life was like in the Aztec Empire and Elizabethan England at the time of the voyages of exploration.
