Fanned! :) Question..I know practically nothing about computers...I bought my Dell Desk top Computer in the beginning of 2009 and was wondering if this is compatible or would I need some other video enhancing performance device for my computer? do I need a video card or graphics card? Please let me know..thanks :)

I had this in a older dell inspiron 2400, don't know what model you have. This is a video card "graphics"..This will enhance your graphics and allow your computer to perform better then stock by freeing up your on board ram. If you tell me which model you have i will let you know if it will work.

Seller is correct, this card is indeed PCI. PCIE would have a curved tab that snaps into a clip at the end of the slot on the mother board. Since this card obviously lacks that extra tab, it is not PCIE. If people that do not know the difference would like to confirm my information, go to Tigerdirect.com and look up video cards, they show the different slot and card types in diagrams.

Pci express wasn't introduced at the time of the manufacturing of that card. That card was made circa 2002-03. There were also AGP 2/4x versions of that card, which were faster. Good graphics card at the time. Would be ok for super light gaming. Id give ya 2500 credits for it. And your dell would have at least one available pci slot to those that asked. Chances are no one is using the 56k modem so it could be removed to make space for it.

I can vouch that this card is better than its specs because of the commandset and chip architecture. I have one in my desktop, and playing any indie game or even FFXI Online gives absolutely no trouble at high resolutions. I haven't bought a new game in a while, but playing my open-source games has been smooth as a whistle. I highly recommend any nVidia card.
This card is also very Linux friendly for enabling 3D Desktop.
