Kinda the same concept as a cell phone case its mostly to make the phone look good but protects it. the plug keeps stuff out of the headphone jack. It fits in any standard headphone jack.
Let me explain a little bit about shipping, it may take up to two weeks for you to get your Item. I really wanted one of these for myself and the ones I found on listia the seller wanted $10 for shipping and handling, that's wrong! its against listia rules. I went and looked on ebay and decided to get one that way and thought I would get a bunch extra to put them on here for everyone else so you have the listia option. I mostly use listia cause id rather shop credits than money, I have more credit than I do money; and I know that's how a lot of other people would like to shop. Id rather buy something and put it on here for people who don't want to use ebay or don't have the money but have the credits (and its a great way for me to earn credits) I'm glad everyone seems to be liking these.
