Questions & Comments
Is the SCD for Sports Card Digest or is it for Sports Card Direct? There are two different companies who grade under SCD.
Very cool. Direct was kind of a farce, but Digest actually uses a more stringent scale than PSA ... I can't see them but I will guess a 7.5 SCDigest is about the same as an 8 or 8.5 on PSA.
I havent sent out cards 2 b graded in quite a while. But when I did,it usually was PSA,SGC,SCD,or Beckett!!!!Most all of what I auction off I pulled from packs myself.I am not one 2 go out and buy the "hot card" of the month so 2 speak. With the exception of the 1972 set I am building now,all of the sets that I have have been put together by my opening packs.I have at least one set from 1981-2012 Topps,Fleer Score,Upper Deck,Donruss, etc etc etc.Perhaps in the coming months I will start to auction off those sets!!!
I can't say I've never bought a "hot card" but its rare ... I usually wait for the price to drop off, it'll happen as soon as they have one cold month three years into their career, lol. I *did* over the weekend obtain Billy Hamilton's first certified auto card from 2009 (#d to 199), which just got uber hot recently,l because I found it a shop with it's OLD price on it, lol. They're going on Ebay for $60-$200 ... but I'm thinking about listing it here.
