The listing, Vintage Blue Bird Salt Pepper Shakers has ended.
These little blue birds are so cute! Made in the late 1950s or early 1960s by Commodore of Japan. They are 4" tall and nearly 3" wide. The shaker on the left has a pink bow, but the paint is faded and has some rubs. On it's behind is the silver sticker and stamp Japan. There is a tiny chip/rub on it's tail feathers. The shaker on the left has a green bow, which has rubs in, too. It is stamped Japan. Both shakers have the plastic plug. The noise makers, chirpers, do not work but they are still there. No cracks or breaks or repairs. I am charging $3 US shipping to be paid through PayPal or sent my mail. Please ask questions before bidding. No refunds for buyers remorse!
Questions & Comments
Really pretty! I didn't know salt and pepper shakers were ever made with chirpers. Do you have any idea what might be wrong with them?
I didn't know they had chirpers until I did some research - I thought they were both pepper mills! LOL The only thing I can think of why they don't chirp anymore is maybe they got wet inside and rusted. I tried to fan you, but I have reached my limit. I will try again when I get more fans ;~)
Goodness, don't worry about fanning me. I just comment when I am really interested in something. I think I will have to make a run at these! The colors are just so eyecatching!!!
