I would never have thought of that. I did notice that the inside photo seems to show places where plating has worn off, so I do not expect that it is sterling.

I looked up the $5 flat rate box. it is 8 5/8x5 3/8x1 5/8, about the size of the old VHs cassette movie tapes, according to the web site.

I have put in a low bid. you can not expect a respectable bid if you do not answer the questions asked. real sterling is labeled sterling. what are the markings on this piece? sterling is the USA designation. other countries have other designations for sterling.. if this is silverplate, it is still acceptable, but there is a wide variation in the price.
