The listing, German Soldier Matchbox. Gott Mit Uns. has ended.

German soldier matchbox. Gott Mit Uns (God with Us). I believe this is from War World II. From what I was able to find out in some research is that the soldiers would take the medallion from their belt buckle and fabricate these matchboxes. This one still has a old matchbox inside. It is just like I found it back in the 1970's, in an American military uniform, inside the pocket with other German items, inside an abandoned barn here in Ohio. No, I do not have the other items

Shipping these items for free on Listia.com is a great extra for the person winning the bid. But for me, it feels like I am paying to give my stuff away. So I will NOT be offering free shipping on most of my items any longer. Free is cool if there is money received for items, but credits is what is received and the post office does not take credits. The fee listed with each auction may not completely pay for the shipping every time, BUT it will at least offset most of it.

Yeah, it is definitely a piece of history. Kind of get a strange feeling when I hold it in my hand. It starts the mind wondering all sorts of things.....every thing from meaningless to more serious. are you kidding me of course it does its a real piece of history who knows maybe a one of our soilders had to do something to get this like kill or maybe its from a troop that gave up or something along those lines makes you wonder its a beautiful piece
