The name Congo comes from the Africa which shares the same latitude and where these peppers originated, before being carried to the West Indies by the slaves. Also the name Habaneros comes from Havana, Cuba, where it's quite popular and easy to grow. It's heat index is from 150.000 to 300.000 on the Scoville Scale. These peppers are so aromatic, it's unbelievable. Great for curries and island dishes. They are very exotic and elegant . Great for Island and South American dishes.
