Description

The listing, Konica Autoreflex TC SLR & TWO Lenses! has ended.

In the mid-70s, there was a strong trend towards smaller and lighter SLR cameras. Konica introduced the Autoreflex TC in the spring of 1976 (it was sold in Japan as the ACOM-1). The TC is a lot smaller and lighter than all previously built SLRs from Konica – the F and the Autoreflex series. The body of the Autoreflex TC used many plastic parts for weight and cost savings, but the frame was still made of metal. The top cover with the prism housing and on later models the bottom plate also are completely cast from black plastic. This was quite daring at this time, but did not damage the success of the Autoreflex TC. The plastic used is very impact-resistant and looks good even after long usage.

The Autoreflex TC was designed as an entry-level model. As such, it has limited features. The slowest shutter speed on the Autoreflex TC is 1/8 second (and B), it has no depth-of-field preview, and no multiple exposure provision. Still, they are an incredible bargain and good value for the money.

For normal everyday hobby photography or as cheap second body for using different films, the features will suffice, as the slow shutter speeds are not used very often. As it is small and light, it is very well suited for travel photography, to take it with you on a hike or a bicycle tour.

It comes with two lenses: a 50mm "Prime" lens and a 28mm Wide Angle. You'll use the 50mm for most shots, but I encourage you to experiment with both. In fact, take the same shot, say a landscape view, with both lenses and see how they differ. It's doing things like this that helps you develop your skills and knowledge as a photographer. Sure, it costs more than a digital camera, but perhaps you'll stop and give more thought to the shot instead of simply taking 7 dozen digital pictures and hoping 1 or 2 trun out okay!

Shipping will be by USPS Priority Mail Flat Rate Medium Box for $10.90. A small price to pay for an SLR and 2 lenses!

Free shipping at an amount of credits?

Sorry, but I'm going to stick with the current S/H arrangements. These are still very good cameras, so one shouldn't worry about having to pay $11 and some credits to get one!

They sure are hung up on this free shipping thing, aren't they. And, they want free film, free batteries, free extras....next thing you'll see is them wanting you to handcarry it to their door. The sad thing is....I'm sure you'll have several more requests for free shipping before this auction ends. Amazing!

I guess they think enough "requests" and the seller will give in. It may have worked in other listings, so they try here. But I'm firm on the S/H; I can always keep a camera that gets no bids!

free shipping please

Make it worth my while! A bid of 100-200 credits isn't enough incentive for me to offer free shipping.

if only a kid like me had 11 dollars :( lol does this camera give good quality pictures?like a nikon d40 or something?
Jul 23rd, 2010 at 2:30:17 PM PDT by
Original
Yes, it gives excellent pictures. Better than a D40, given the higher resolutions of film vs. digital.

it needs film?so could i just wal mart develop the pictures i take?

Yes, it's a 35mm film camera! Lots of places will develop most brands of film on the market - unless you use the cameras I use! For all-around use, I'd recommend Fuji or Kodak, 400 ASA film.

120 B&W roll film or 4 x 5 B&W sheet film! A SINGLE 4 x 5 negative has the same area as NINE 35mm negatives, and costs as much! I have to develop these myself!

and how much credits might be worth it for this particular camera?only way i could pay shipping is robbing a bank for 10 bucks lol

Well, let's try to keep things in perspective here! If you can't afford the S/H, there's NO way you'll be able to afford the film and processing!

I appreciate all the info. you give about the cameras you have up for auction. Its like a little mini lesson. Thanks so much for your efforts.

I've been in too many auctions where the seller didn't provide enough info, and it just causes problems. People can't accuse me of hiding any info, unlike some of the auctions I've seen here! Some guy listed a "CaNnon IXUS 10MP" (nice spelling!), but when I asked for the actual model number, not only did he hide my comment, he blocked me! The winner is in for a bad surprise on that one!
