I have this card of One of the World's Greatest Baseball Players, Roger Eugene Maris, of the 1960's. He played for the New York Yankees as an Outfielder. Batted, left-handed, Threw- right-handed. He was 6 feet tall and weighed in at 197 lbs. Maris was born on September 10, 1934
Roger Maris will be best remembered for his record- shattering 61 home runs in 1961. Maris was also the American League's MVP a year earlier in 1960, when he belted 39 homers with 112 RBI and a .283 average- a career high. Maris came up with Cleveland in 1957 and remained in the majors for 12 years with the Indians, Yankees, Kansas City A's and St Louis Cardinals. He compiled a lifetime average of 260 with 275 home runs and added six more homers in seven World Series
