FYI (as there has been some confusion) - This is like the product you would buy at a beauty supply store...it doesn't come with developer or gloves or a bottle. You would buy those separately. Most professionals will already have the developer (from previous uses - as it comes in a larger bottle) and know what strength to use and for how long.

You would need to know what developer works best for your hair, as different developer strengths (and the amount of time that the colorant is on your hair before rinsing) would affect the end result. Please, if you are unsure - don't bid...I would hate for someone to mistakenly come out with the wrong colored hair - or worse. These are preferably for those who've used them before and know how to use this type of product.

I'm sorry, but I don't really know. I am not a stylist or professional and just got these as part of a promotion. I would 'assume' that it would work like any other permanent color - if your color is darker, then it might lighten it a step or so, but if your color is dark or already previously color-treated - then there is no real way of knowing. You could try asking some pros (like at a Sally Beauty Co or some place like that)

Sorry that I can't be of more help on these, but I am a dark brunette - so, I use the dark colors...browns, auburns, etc.
