Description: The Bible in a nutshell. How the world began, how sin entered the world, and why we must trust Jesus.
“In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” (Genesis 1:1).
Adam Brought Sin Into The World
Before talking about sin, we need to define sin. 1 John 3:4 states that “sin is lawlessness.” Sin is any violation of God’s laws or ordinances. Romans 1:28-32 and Galatians 5:19-21 give us lists of sins. However, the lists are not all inclusive. The first sin on earth occurred when Adam disobeyed God’s command in Genesis 3. The command that Adam disobeyed was given in Genesis 2:16-17.

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” Genesis 2:16-17
Adam was warned to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. By the way, the tree was not an apple tree, and the tree does not exist today since God placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to keep Adam and Eve from the tree (Genesis 3:24). God prevented humanity from eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The man had sinned and was no longer welcome in the Garden of Eden. Romans 5:12 states that sin came into the world though one man – Adam.God knows everything we are going through at this very moment and everything we will go through in the future. He knows the best way to handle every situation so we get the best possible outcome and we need to trust him with that. We need to follow his path and trust that he knows best, because he does.
