Yes you plugged a receiver into your iPod and you put the transmitter into the gym shoe and it syncs with your iPod or iPhone.

Not sure what you mean by something else you're receiving transmitter and the Nike+ plus Receiver that gps in your gym shoe. Thanks for looking.
