The listing, #48- Paul Waner- They call him " The Big Poison"- Big League Card- Nostalgia Press Reprint has ended.
This card is of Paul Waner of the Pittsburg Pirates. They called him "The Big Poison," because he was such a dangerous man at the bat and in the field.
He started out to be a pitcher but turned to outfielding in 1923 when the San Francisco Club became short of outfielders. He broke into the game by making eight hits in 10 times at bat in a doubleheader with San Francisco. Pittsburgh grabbed him in 1926 and he was with the Pirates ever since.
He was a left-hander, stood five feet, eight and 1/2 inches tall and weighed 160 lbs. He was born at Harrah, Oklahoma on April 16, 1903
This card number is #25. It is a Big Leagie Chewing Gum Card by Goudey Gum Co from Boston, Mass. It is a Nostalgia Press Reprint. The only yearly date on this card that I see is 1933. This is an excellent card for any card collection so bid on this one if you're interested. Thanks for bidding..............Lookout for my other auctions on Listia and bid on them, too, if you like. Thank you.............Blessings...................
