does this work with a regular psp?

Nope, it's specifically for the PSP-N1000 Series. Check the model number on your PSP. I have the original PSP fat and this will not work for it. The PSP-N1000 model is the PSP go, which is the model that has the slide out control pad. As of 2011, this model have already been discontinued by Sony. Thanks Sony, for not making their accessories cross-compatible with older models. In this day and age, it's all about the money. Trust nobody! Corporate America, Corporate anything. They always say they're in it for you, but really they're in it for them. :o)
