There's a reinforced cutout (see pictures) to put your thumb through, and one large reinforced cutout for hand (just below fingers). Then you can "wad it up" along your wrist, or stretch it out to above your elbow. They're made of stretchy nylon. One Size fits most, and go through washer and dryer fine - they "shrink" down, but they stretch right back out on your arms again.
