these can be used for storing beads,safety pins,straight pins,jewelry findings,buttons,...whatever you can think of. I don't think that these seal up, tight when the covers are snapped on,but I don't know for sure.the inside is slightly smaller than the top,as you can see in the pics. the ruler is to show the size.I only got 8,so when they're gone they're gone!
