they are made of made of 100% polyester so they are like basketball shorts in material but they are much longer. They come down 9 i/2 inches from the crotch seam. They have an elastic band as well as draw string. Sorry I did not specify. hope this helps.

How many inches is the waist unstretched? My husband has a 40 in waist and normally it depends on the brand on if he can fit them.
