JAPANESE CLEMATIS ~ Clematis terniflora / syn: C. chinensis, C. thunbergii

-aka- Sweet Autumn Clematis, Sweet Autumn Virgin's Bower

Hardy in USDA zones 4 - 9, JAPANESE Clematis blooms in mid-September, bursting with thousands of small, *very* fragrant white flowers. It likes to be in full sun to partial shade and to have regular watering -- but don't overwater. It grows as a vine, up to 30 feet.. If you are going to sow the seeds directy into a garden bed, sow them IN THE FALL at a depth of 1 inch, spacing them 9" - 12" apart.

JAPANESE Clematis is very attractive to bees and butterflies. There are no major plant diseases or insect problems with this clematis.
