Description

The listing, purslane seed has ended.

purslane seed are very fast growing and make ground cover , i will be giving alot of seed to many to count , this plant is very good for you and grows like a weed and we are the only industrial nation not to use this plant for food ,i eat it everyday and i love it and Purslane just happens to contain alpha-linolenic acid, one of the highly sought-after Omega-3 fatty acids. Why pay money for fish oil when you can grow your own Omega-3 fatty acids as part of your edible landscaping? Especially when it takes little effort to grow purslane, since it does grow like a weed. ty

I love it. I have it growing on my deck but have neglected to collect seed this season. One of the best eating wild things growing. One of my favorite recipes is Verdolaga Con Queso which is simply purslane with jack cheese, but I rev it up with layers of corn totillas, salsa, crumbled fried bacon, and lots of cheese. OMG it's that good. http://www.food.com/recipe/verdolaga-con-queso-464392
I've also made some delicious sweet pickles from the thick stems. There's nothing bad you can say about purslane. Only place I've ever seen it in a market was in California. I have to resort to sniffing it out around the countryside here in TN. Found a wad of it growing through the concrete at my car dealership in McMinn County, TN. I relieved them of their "weeds" growing through the cracks in the concrete. They were happy and I was happy.

I've liked the plant for its heat tolerance and pretty flowers. I had no idea one could eat it, too.
