in reference to the hinges, it looks like they were just left off when it was worked on, implying maybe someone opened it up and couldn't get it all back together. Do you think that's the case? Also if you'll right click on my computer, click properties, and tell us what you can about the memory, cpu speed, etc that is installed?

The model number is probably above the keyboard or right below the LCD. It will be a series of three numbers like 300 or 600.
