Hardy in USDA zones 4 - 9, JAPANESE Clematis blooms in mid-September, bursting with thousands of small, *very* fragrant white flowers. It likes to be in full sun to partial shade and to have regular watering -- but don't overwater. It grows as a vine, up to 30 feet.
