The listing, Heirloom St. Joseph's Amaryllis Seeds! ***Limited Special Auction! has ended.
St. Joseph's Hardy Amaryllis, aka St. Joseph's Lily (Hippeastrum x johnsonii, H. vittatum).
This heirloom hardy variety of Amaryllis boasts deep velvety red and white horn shaped “trumpet” flowers atop the thick sturdy stems. A wonderful and easy slowly multiplying bulbous perennial. A simply gorgeous flower that can keep on blooming for up to 30 years!
This is a RARE and LIMITED auction. I can guarantee 1, maybe 2 more future Listia auctions, that’s it! Growing any Amaryllis from seed is unusual, especially because seed pods only appear with hand pollination from a mother plant. Amaryllis bulbs of this heirloom variety can be purchased for about $10 EACH. Bulbs develop 2-3 years after seedlings establish, as well as flowers. Considering the life span of this exquisite flowering plant, it’s worth the wait!
The fortunate winner (!) of this auction will receive 20+ carefully packaged seeds along with full instructions (2 different methods) for starting from seed and planting.
