Botanical name(s): Stachytarpheta jamaicensis

JAMAICAN VERVAIN, or Blue Porterweed, is a low-growing, plant with branches that typically spread horizontally from a short central stem; which is natively from Florida. Leaves are coarsely toothed and the teeth generally point toward the tip. Small, blue flowers (around 4mm diameter) are produced either singularly or clustered in groups of 2 or 3 in on a thickened spike that reaches 12" long or more. Individual flowers last a single day.
