Description

The listing, 10K Amethyst Colored Stone and Diamond? Ring has ended.

Delicate and beautiful! Real 10K yellow gold and amethyst colored stone with diamond? accents. Hallmarked 10K with a maker’s mark I can’t read. I think it says SP. Size 6.2. It passed my home acid test. I don’t have a gem tester but the stones are likely real and are very lovely. Free shipping with tracking. Starting bids low because I have no idea what to put as a GIN on this…LOL. The winner will truly enjoy it!

Hello again. I just Googled it.
Gold is a noble metal which means its resistant to corrosion, oxidation and acid. To perform this test, rub your gold on a black stone to leave a visible mark. Then apply nitric acid to the mark. The acid will dissolve any base metals that aren't real gold. I'd this the test you did? Thanks

You can buy an acid test kit on Amazon for under $20. It has a scratch stone with it. Basically you make a small scratch on the stone using a place on the ring that will be least noticeable. Then you drop a bead of acid on the scratch mark and wipe it with a piece of white paper towel. If you get a greenish color then you have a base metal (non-gold). If you wipe and you don’t see much coloration then you have gold. No reaction. :)

Awesome auction! Just curious how do you do acid test at home? What do you use? I know you can use a magnet to make sure it's solid gold. But would love to know how to do a acid test! Thanks
