Description

The listing, Cholla Cactus ~ Dwarf, Hardy to 10F has ended.

Auction is for the 3 cuttings shown in the photo. The largest is nearly 4" and the smallest is about 3".

This selection reaches 2 - 2.5' tall and wide when mature, it is a multi-branched, dense, dangerous shrub! It is drought tolerant, needs no supplemental water once established, and must have good drainage. Once it has developed a healthy root system it will thrive in the hottest, driest part of your yard.

This plant is not for households with with young children, the elderly, disabled, or curious pets. The spines are treacherous, and not only will they draw blood, they are barbed and will hang on and are difficult to remove.

I am sharing the extra cuttings I received to start this plant in my yard--so I won't be offering this one again in the near future.

I handle these (and other dangerous cactus) with Styrofoam blocks, but floral foam would work as well. They cling to the foam, and then you need to use a stick to manipulate them. Do not attempt to touch them with your bare hands.

Plant them in a container with well drained potting soil, either by simply laying them on top, or inserting the bottom third (cut end) of the cutting into the soil. Let the soil dry out briefly in between watering, and keep in bright shade until new growth appears. Once they start growing they can be gradually accustomed to full sun, until they are pot bound--at which time you may choose to plant them in the ground. (Large Styrofoam blocks will help with that job.)

Shipping is by priority flat rate, the medium box--in the US only, and includes tracking. Shipping is $12. 75 if paid by regular PayPal as if you are making a purchase. If paid by PayPal personal or by US Postal Money Order it is $12.10.

Shipping can be combined. Bonus surprise cuttings are included when bidding goes over 100 credits. GIN of 2000 credits available if requested before first bid.

Smoke free household.

Yes, indeed they would, plenty of room for the seeds. I could even get a Golden Torch cutting, an agave, and these in the same box. They have two different shapes on the medium sized box--and one of them is very generous.
