Description

The listing, Rainbow Butterfly Bush seeds from my yard x 12 has ended.

Also known as Buddleia davidii.
The butterfly bush thrives in full sun and well drained soil. It prefers zones 5-9 where winter temps do not fall below -20 degrees.
As its name suggests, butterfly bush is a butterfly favorite. I have rainbow, pink and blue bushes and the butterflies are in my yard a lot. Usually, they grow between 4 and 5ft. Mine are taller than my husband and he is 6ft tall.
You can grow them by sowing their seeds in pots. Later, you can transfer them to your outdoor garden in spring. These are freshly dried seeds, so you will need to stratify them. Fill a zip lock baggie with damp peat moss and drop the seeds into it. Seal it, give it a quick shake and put it in your refrigerator for 4 weeks. Fill 4" pots with potting soil, drop one seeds into each pot, push the seed down 1". Mist the soil lightly. Place the pot in an area that receives bright, indirect sunlight while maintaining a temp of 75 degrees. Keep the soil moist. Germination usually takes 20-30 days. Transplant outdoors in spring. Space 4-6ft apart.

this is such a pretty plant, but are you sure it's Buddleia? I think it loooks like Lantana. Good Luck. I've never seen multi colored blossoms on a Buddleia? Cool

I am positive. It seems like it is a unusual variety. This is a large bush, not a flower.

You know what? I just learned something! Close up, this looks like the rainbow colored lantana, and like I said, I've never seen a Buddleia with more than one color. Here it is, folks! It's BEAUTIFUL!!
