This is a neat IRON NICKEL NANTAN METEORITE fragment that fell to earth in1516 AD and was found in 1958. it is made up of 92.35% Iron and 6.96% Nickel. This Meteorite fell in Lihu and Yaozai Town, Nantan County Guangxi Province Chine

It comes with a color information label, and a plastic 4 3/4 inch x 3 inch bag which has a hang hole for easy display on a display rack.

This meteorite is 4 grams in weight. The photo shows an example of what you will receive if you win this item - meaning the one in the picture is not the exact one you will receive, but you will get one very similar.

Nantans contain a trace amount of chlorine which causes them to oxidize more quickly than other meteorites. That is what gives them their unique and beautiful brownish-red color.

This piece is a genuine meteorite and is mostly oxidized making for a nice specimen piece. Due to this fact, I do not recommend cutting and polishing this piece.

But it is great for a collector, a science class, or just to own a piece of something from out of this world!!
