Actually it can be both oil or kerosene. If used indoors oil, kerosene for outdoor use.

So you are saying there is NO marks or letters etc. on the wheel that turns the wick up and down? Can you take a photo of it close-up (use Micro on your camera) and also of the bottom of the lamp? Thanks
