Description

The listing, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial - Atari 2600 has ended.

E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial

game cartridge for the Atari 2600 and compatible systems.

Rarity level 1 (atariage.com)

In full working order.

Label has slight typical "silver label" wear and scratches (as you can see), but is in overall good condition and not coming peeling off. The bottom label has the E in "E.T..." torn off, but the rest of the label is good and not peeling off.

Got a box full of Atari games and I'm weeding out the ones I already have.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE:

I'm not one to take up space to just ramble and/or rant, but personally I'm tired of some video game suppliers on here trying to screw people over by calling everything "rare" and "highly sought after." I've personally been blocked twice for simply stating that what someone has listed is not "rare," "highly sought after," and giving a rarity level (I even had the high bid on one of the seller's items). It's simply immoral and not fair to try and make people think your game is "rare" to get more credits out of them. As the old saying goes, honesty is the best policy and as the Bible plainly states in Galatians 6:7 - "for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." - People deserve to know the truth about what they are bidding on, even if it means not getting the amount of credits you would like to have. Let's keep it truthful and fair on Listia. -- I say this with kindness!! Thanks for understanding!

The game that nearly destroy the video game world

Actually, it didnt almost destroy anything...it was just such an unpopular game. Development was rushed and so it made the game not as fun as it was hyped to be. Atari made so much more than they sold, so they trashed their inventory. Contrary to the media and popular belief, the game is complete and totally playable.

What caused the "Great Video Game Crash" was failed marketing strategies (Atari), screwy licensing and copyrights (Coleco Vision specifically), too much hype & broken promises (Matell - Intellivision), and poor console development (Atari mostly, and Matell). Nintendo brought the market back by being genuine, honest, and competative...not to mention they have always been #1 in development and marketing.

This is what I hear and saw I know ET is one of the greatest movies I dare say of all time and I am a huge fan on Steven Spielberg

The game was rush yes and to me video games are a artwork and like all art you can't rush it that takes it away

I never play it because I want born until 1986 by then Nintendo was the king of video games and I remember playing the Nes growing up and I believe Nintendo saved the video game party

But I'm really surprise that I see this game on here it is only the fourth time I have seen it on listia

Really? I'm surprised! This is one I see often. I bought a box of Atari ganes about a month ago that had 2 or 3 of these and I already had one that came with my Atari. So i didnt need the extras.
