The listing, TOSHIBA LAPTOP/KEYBOARD DOESN'T WORK has ended.

!!!!read before bidding!!!!

this is a toshiba laptop it works great however the keyboard doesn't work, something heavy fell on it and now only a few of the letters, the enter key and a couple of other keys work, it has a onscreen keyboard that is what i used until i got my new computer, the mouse works great, it has an icam, lots of extra programs, it runs on windows 7 and has intel core i13. the warranty is out.tried to show in pics. where dent in keyboard is. if you know something about computers it might be something easy to fix. this was an expensive computer and is about 2 years old. the only thing wrong is keyboard, the charger comes with it. i put pics of the onscreen keyboard so you can see that there is one. if you have any questions please ask and i will try to answer to the best of my ability.
thanks for looking and good luck bidding.

It could be a very simple solution to fixing the keys since you said after it got smashed they still worked then sll of a sudden stopped. aiam s computer science major and iv worked with computers all my life since i was 13 so it may not be that bad. F&W! good luck Billichavaz..O by the way someone asked you what OS is it running OS=OPERATING SYSTEM, like windows Linux etc etc.I would also like to know what OS isit using?

Oh yeah and the person that wanted to know what keys worked, the a key doesn't work anymore, the enter key still does and the shift key on the right side does, and that's it, when you push them though they feel like they are sticking. which i never noticed before. hope that helps some.

So, the only keys that work are shift and enter? Or are you saying the only non working key is "A"? Also, have you the ability to try another keyboard? An external keyboard may be all that's needed! Best of luck on listia!

I think they mean all software is current. Some people don't update, some software is not supported. You indicate Windows seven I think. So I would say you pass with flying colors. But I do have another question: Was what you spilled liquid? I only asked because the stickers look damaged. I just don't want a problem that is going to keep being a problem. Bad displays and bad keyboards I can handle. Bad motherboards, not so much! Thanks for a great listing, prompt answers and a good attitude!

Hawaii is the 50th state. There are only 2 ways to ship items to Hawaii - by air or by sea vs US Mainland where there are as many 5 ways to ship an item. You can ship UPS, FEDEX or USPS, preferably USPS because the flat rate using Priority Mail is the same as most zones in the U.S. You can also ship using a 3rd party to Hawaii. Other than USPS, UPS, FEDEX, rates can reach into the hundreds, which they consider flat rate. That's where the difference is, and most times, companies will only ship UPS or FEDEX to Hawaii. On Listia, my choice is to ship USPS Priority Mail, which takes 3-5 days. There is no option for me to ship Parcel Post with tracking because by sea it can take up to a month and may end up damaged. Whereas on the U.S., PPost & 1st Class mail can be trucked or delivered by train and most times get there within a week. Another big difference.

Thank you for all that info, i did ask the post office about it and if i use a flat rate box it is the same as anywhere else in usa so

So, how did a table leg fall on it? That seems it would be an interesting story... Maybe not here and now. But some tid bits might be nice. Thanks!

Side question:-) People always seem to ask about free shipping to United States places, aren't they served by the USPS? I know some stuff might ship differently. By it seems that flat rate shipment would be serving all United States, not just connus, am I wrong?

Sounds like you need to re-install the network wireless driver. Click the Windows start button, in the search programs & file box, type ' device manager'. When that pops up, highlight 'Network adapter', you'll get a drop down menu naming what adapter is installed. Make note of that, then go to the company's support site,(google it), find the driver you made note of, download it, install it, reboot (restart). Or if you have a start-up disc with the drivers that were preloaded with your new laptop, just slap that disc in your dvd drive, open it and re-install the network wireless driver.
. F&W & does free shipping include Hawaii?

You might have gotten an 'update' now your stuff might need a driver update or possibly a roll back. Get on line and see if others are having a problem. Also, I hate to ask, is this your network (the wireless one) I know a bunch that use whatever is available. But, people move, or lock their networks down. You also might try looking a bit deeper into your computer. Fairly new might get tech support free. Worth a shot.

Thanks for letting everyone know that, i appreciate it. wish i would have known that before i got new laptop. since everyone seems to know a lot about computers on here, except me! lol. my new laptop, won't get wireless all of the sudden, and it says network driver not installed when i "trouble shoot" and when it says fixing problem then it tells me driver not found, it worked then i let it "sleep" and when i turned it back on it didn't work, it will still work with wire, just not wirelessly. any one know what might be up?

I know the a key and the enter key work i can't remember which other ones but i will check tomorrow and let you know. and as for getting replacement keys i don't know, it's not just the keys that got smashed, they actually worked for awhile and then one day i turned it off and they wouldn't work anymore.

What size is the screen? I can handle the non-working keyboard, as I have a Toshiba laptop that is very similar, if not exactly the same. Only problem is, mine has a cracked screen. If I could swap the screens out that would be optimal. Then I could hang on to the rest of the parts to use as replacement parts if something else screws up. Fanned & Watching, for sure.
