actually, no, it is an octagon cut because there are straight cuts where prongs are located, thus it has 8 cuts. An emerald cut is 4 sided but has the longer length. Trust me, I know my stones and cuts.. Plus, the description from my wholesale company is even octagon. I too thought it wAs emerald cut too,but even when I looked closer, I saw the straight cuts, essentially cutting the corners off. I want to mention to everyone that I know what I am selling, I don't need to tell you that it is stamped .925 because I wouldn't lie about what I am selling, furthermore, I need people to stop questioning me when the description is clear. If I say it is solid silver, don't ask me if it is silver plated. I don't sell that junk. And please don't ask it in a way that implies that I don't know what I'm selling. It is solid .925 content sterling silver, so you can have it sized. It is not junk jewelry, it is the real deal. You can size up or down... so bid away!!!! :) Like all of my jewelry, it is high quality with attention to detail, stones are mounted correctly, the jewelry looks exactly like what you see at expensive retal stores that have huge overhead and commissions to pay out. You also save money with me because Silver is cheaper than gold and platinum (not by much though anymore) so by getting a stone in solid silver or solid silver with overlayment of platinum or gold, a huge cost of the jewelry is eliminated. So, NO, it's not too good to be true, I am just a big city girl, trying to make it in my old small hometown where I can't find a job, even with my extensive qualifications. I am even willing to relocate since my daughter will be off to college in 2 years! :(
