The listing, Green Depression Glass Cookie Jar With No Lid has ended.

Up for bid is a green depression glass cookie jar that has no lid. It has no chips or cracks but the top of the jar where lid should sit is rough particularly on the inside rim. If anyone wants it I would be happy to pass it on rather than throw it out. It weighs almost two pounds by itself so I am starting the price higher. Please ask any questions you may have. Free shipping. Please be aware that I can ONLY SHIP ON SATURDAYS.

is this uranium glass?
hold it up to a black light and see if it glows if it does it worth about $35.00 or more?

most people haven't heard of it
it's made with a little bid of uranium in it thats why it glows with a black light.
just try it if it glows you would be better off selling this on e-bay for sure.
go look it up on there and see what you can find
just put uranium glass in the search on e-bay and see what this is worth

Most people call it Vaseline glass and often mistake it for depression glass would love to know if it glows...F&W

I'm loving the conversation !! I just played "Auntie Mr. Wizard" 2 weeks ago with my great nieces&nephews that involved a blacklight&several pieces of my collection as well as some of my sisters pieces (I'm a sucker for the green,she has some yellow] The little people were impressed! Restored my faith in the next generation-you can impress them without an X-box!! If you like a challenge there are sites out there where the winner just may be able to score an authentic lid for a replacement. Really wonderful piece!! for the research purposes try looking under 'biscuit jar' as well.

No. My mom had to be taken to the hospital on Monday and my week has been crazy. She is doing Ok but I am way behind in everything. (She lives with me). Saturdays are my freest day so I plan to get one today. I really appreciate your tip. thanks

one more thing I wanted to tell you all
you can order a hand held black light on e-bay kinda like a small flash light
but there only around $5.00
I have one and keep it in my pocket all the time, so when I see this stuff I'll always have it on hand.
if you get one I think the one that takes AA battery are the best ones.
